INDEVCO Paper Making to Exhibit Jumbo Tissue Rolls at Tissue World Milan 2017

Tissue converters can consult INDEVCO Paper Making at Tissue World 2017 at Fieramilanocity, Hall 3, Booth #D150 from 10-12 April 2017 in Milan, Italy.

INDEVCO Paper Making will showcase its recycled and virgin jumbo rolls at the world’s  largest industry trade show dedicated to tissue. In line with the theme of Tissue World 2017, “Change is the Only Constant”, INDEVCO Paper Making will engage tissue converters about evolving consumer preferences and sustainable tissue making.

INDEVCO Paper Making’s tissue mills, Interstate Paper Industries in Egypt and Unipak Tissue Mill in Lebanon manufacture around 90,000 metric tons of parent reels per year destined for conversion in over 15 countries. Up to 70% of Interstate Paper Industries’ product portfolio is recycled.

Imad Issa El Khoury, Vice President of INDEVCO Paper Making, explains, “We’re adamant about meeting the changing demands for quality tissue, so that we help our customers, the converters, meet their consumer needs. At the same time, we focus on producing our jumbo rolls with the environment in mind – from sourcing sustainable raw materials and powering our plants with renewable energy and machine efficiencies through managing waste.”

Meeting Consumer Demand

Tissue converters can request specific technical specifications from INDEVCO Paper Making to meet consumer demands - for softness, texture, absorbency, wet strength quality, and recycled material – for their toilet tissue, facial tissue, kitchen paper towel, and paper napkin brands. In addition, the mills produce tissue reels optimal for printing, allowing converters to differentiate their brands with attractive designs and graphics.

Sustainable Tissue Making

INDEVCO Paper Making’s sustainable sourcing guidelines support local development of the waste paper collectors in Egypt and Lebanon. In addition, the mills procure certified chain-of-custody virgin pulp raw materials, in line with the Forest Stewardship Council (FSC) and Programme for the Endorsement of Forest Certification (PEFC). The mills are certified according to ISO 14001 Environmental Management System.

In Lebanon, Unipak Tissue Mill has invested heavily in renewable energies to offset unreliable and expensive electricity production and distribution, while positively impacting the environment. The mill’s heat recovery reduces CO2 emissions by 14,000 tons per year, equivalent to one year’s emissions from nearly 3000 cars. The mill also relies on solar PV panels, biomass, and absorption chilling technology.
