INDEVCO Paper Making: Sustainable Tissue Mills
Raw Materials & Certifications:
INDEVCO Paper Making tissue mills in Egypt and Lebanon manufacture recycled jumbo tissue rolls by using recovered paper. Both tissue mills are FSC & PEFC certified, ensuring that all paper materials come from sustainable forests.
Within the plant, Unipak Tissue Mill installed new machinery that are more power efficient and conserve unneeded energy use. In 2011, Unipak Tissue Mill received the Best Energy Efficiency award from Lebanon Opportunities National Achievement Awards for Industry.
At the plant in Egypt, Interstate Paper Industries launched an ongoing project to reduce fresh water consumption by 55 %.
Unipak Tissue Mill replaced a fossil fuel boiler with an eco-friendly biomass boiler that burns olive oil husks and reduces harmful CO2 emissions, as well as installed cogeneration units on its power generators to produce steam.
