INDEVCO Flexible Packaging Executive Vice President, Dr. Hanna Saad, presented ‘The GCC Plastic Converting Sector: Global or Regional Vocation?’ session at the Global Plastics Trade and Markets Conference on 11 June 2012. The conference offers key professionals throughout the supply chain information and analyzes trends, product developments, and new specific experiences in the plastic industry.
The 2-day event took place at the Intercontinental Ceylan Istanbul in Taksim, Turkey from 11 – 12 June.
Dr. Saad introduced the multinational group of manufacturing plants, INDEVCO, and the group’s various divisions. He focused on INDEVCO Flexible Packaging Division of plastic manufacturing plants and highlighted core competencies of the Division.
Dr. Saad provided through in-depth studies about macro-economic factors and plastic consumption in the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries, as well as a brief overview of European, Middle Eastern, and Turkish markets.
He compared the plastic converting sector in Turkey and GCC countries, highlighting strengths and challenges, and addressed growth potential and cost comparative advantages. He also identified potential areas of synergy between the GCC countries and Turkey.
