In line with the group-wide mission to serve the community, COMPACT engages in the long-term initiative by Dettol and the Arab Hygiene Council to increase health and hygiene education standards throughout the Middle East. Dr. Eyad Hamed from the Arab Hygiene Council, KSA, provided over 150 COMPACT employees an interactive training session on 24 March 2013. The initial session took place at the Carlton Al Moaibed Hotel in Dammam, Saudi Arabia, with the remainder of the session continuing at COMPACT plant.
The training session included a presentation to educate the diverse team of employees on the specific procedures and practices that help reduce the spread of virus-causing germs and infections. As part of the hand-washing program of the Dettol ‘Mission for Health’ initiative, the doctor instructed employees on the basic principles of effective hand hygiene to prevent instances of cold, flu and other illnesses within the workforce.
The education session also consisted of an interactive session and the distribution of Dettol anti-bacterial products. A member of the Arab Hygiene Council, Tamer Abbas, was available after the session for Q & A to help clarify any unclear areas.
About the ‘Mission for Health’ Initiative
Dettol launched the ‘Mission for Health’ initiative in August 2012 for the Middle East, following a survey in September 2012 targeting the UAE, KSA, Kuwait and Qatar. The initiative actively improves health and hygiene standards within communities and assists people in making better and more informed choices.
