On June 2016, Interstate Paper Industries (IPI) obtained ISO 14001:2004 certification ensuring an environmentally friendly workplace. The certification confirms that Interstate Paper Industries operates an Environmental Management System which complies with the requirements of ISO 1400:2004 for controlling environmental risks associated with manufacturing of paper tissue rolls. It ensures an increase in awareness and participation thru better communication about environmental issues inside and outside the company making it clear that environmental performance is an important part of Interstate Paper Industries corporate culture.
ISO 14001:2004 certification audit, conducted by third party auditing body British Standards Institution (BSI), covered all relevant processes and operations of Interstate Paper Industries, and did not raise any major non-conformities.
