Raising Awareness

The initiative began with awareness and training sessions for all employees, facilitated by our HR and Administration Manager Mr. Wissam Sayegh, who introduced the principles of 5S and highlighted the importance of workplace organization, discipline, and shared responsibility.

From Theory to Practice: First Implementation Phase

Following the awareness phase, we moved into practical implementation, starting with the first three pillars of 5S:

  • Sort (Seiri): Unnecessary items were identified, removed, and segregated.
  • Set in Order (Seiton): Essential materials were organized to ensure easy access and clear identification.
  • Shine (Seiso): Workspaces were thoroughly cleaned, improving visibility, safety, and overall working conditions.

The first application was completed in two archive rooms and the majority of offices at GESPA and SEAPERA.

Sustainability at the Core

In line with our sustainability commitment, a significant amount of A4 paper- 4 MT- was sorted and sent for recycling instead of disposal. This step not only supported the 5S Sort principle but also reinforced our responsibility toward environmental sustainability

What’s Next: Standardize & Sustain

The remaining two pillars of the methodology are currently in progress:

  • Standardize (Seiketsu): Developing clear standards, visual guidelines, and best practices to maintain the improvements achieved.
  • Sustain (Shitsuke): Embedding 5S into daily routines and behaviors, ensuring it becomes a daily habit rather than a one-time cleaning activity.

Moving forward the focus is to make 5S part of our daily culture, not just an occasional initiative.
