At the event, MP Neemat Frem stated: “All the crises we have witnessed taught us to turn every threat into an opportunity for success, just like Phoenix Energy previously did with the launch of the Ventilators… It is our national duty to transfer the excellence of the Lebanese private sector to the public sector”. Frem added: “We aim to establish the largest charging network in the world, and thus to be one of the top countries with most EVs per capita, especially that Lebanon’s beautiful environment invites us to do so.”
In his speech, Dr. Issa considered that the importance of the partnership lies in diversifying energy sources in conformity with global progress and the United Nations Sustainability Goals, and in establishing a much-needed modern infrastructure for the electric cars market. He also confirmed that the collaboration with Phoenix Energy places IPT on a transformational path.
“In the first phase, 50 EVCSs will be set up and this number will reach 150 by the end of the current year with much more stations to be installed afterward,” said Rabih Osta.
As per Osta, the EVCSs will be installed in gas stations, shopping malls, supermarkets, restaurants, and cafés. Customers could charge their cars while spending their time at the designated locations. These businesses could also make special offers on the cost of vehicle charging.
A mobile app Named “EV-Zone”, that you can download from your favorite App store, was also placed at the service of Electric vehicles owners, which they can use to spot the nearest charging location, book a charging appointment and pay through the digital wallet.
By providing the right infrastructure for the EV market, EV Zone represents a vital step toward a healthier community and a more sustainable environment.
