Fam® brand worked with Friends of Cancer Patients (FoCP) Association to support Pink Caravan breast cancer awareness initiative in the United Arab Emirates. Fam® joined the pledge of contribution to Pink Caravan, assisting in educational awareness campaigns at universities across UAE and offering financial support.
Friends of Cancer Patients (FoCP) charitable society launched Pink Caravan initiative in 2011 to raise funds to help breast cancer patients and their families cover treatment costs, as well as promote early detection and ensure that all women in the UAE have access to the latest state of the art early screening technology.
Dr. Sawsan Al Madhi, FoCP Secretary-General and Head of the Pink Caravan’s medical and awareness committee, states,
“The fight against cancer cannot be undertaken by a single entity alone. Various stakeholders need to come together and it is only then that real change comes. We are grateful for the pledge made by Napco, as the money raised will be used to support and improve the quality of life for patients undergoing treatment for breast cancer.”

Educational Awareness Campaign
At six universities in Dubai and Sharjah, Fam® and FoCP teams launched Pink Caravan activities, informing young women about the early detection and ways to prevent breast cancer. The team distributed breast self-exam shower brochures and Fam® Trifold sanitary napkin samples.
The team also set up a photo booth on campuses, so young ladies could take pictures with props, such as glasses, wigs, and hats.
Participating universities in Dubai included the American University in the Emirates, Dubai Pharmacy College, Dubai Women College – Higher Colleges of Technology, and University of Dubai.
Sharjah universities included the American University of Sharjah and Sharjah Women’s College – Higher Colleges of Technology.
Financial Contribution & Outlet Awareness Campaign
In numerous retail outlets across the UAE, including Carrefour, Lulu and Coops, promoters with white and pink shirts informed customers about breast cancer.
Shoppers in the UAE received a 20% discount on Fam® Trifold Super and Night products throughout the month of October. With every Fam® Trifold feminine napkin pack purchased, shoppers helped Fam® contribute to Pink Caravan’s fight against breast cancer.
