As pioneers in promoting environmental awareness in Kurdistan, Sanita Consumer Products unit in Iraq, supported the joint campaign: “Keep the Environment Clean and Green”. Sanita volunteers joined efforts with students from International School of Choueifat (ISC-Erbil), Sarwaran International School, and Fakhir Mergasori International School to build awareness among picnickers and communicate the importance of preserving nature and keeping the environment clean.
800 students ranging from grades 4 – 12 on 6 April 2013 worked together to clean up roads in Erbil, Suleimani, and Dohuk, as well as distribute environmental leaflets, Sanita trash bags, Gipsy pocket tissue, t-shirts, and hats, to around 10,000 citizens in passing cars. The youth’s commitment to the cause and hard work reflected in the community’s appreciation, accolade, and promise to use distributed trash bags to clean up and collect trash.
