INDEVCO Group member companies, Masterpak, Sanita, and Snaidero Middle East welcomed Lebanese Minister of Labor, Sejaan Azzi on 11 June 2014 for a comprehensive tour inside their industrial facilities and showrooms in Zouk, Lebanon.
The tour, held under the motto “Al Lubnani Amel El Fark”, The Lebanese Worker: A Factor of Distinction, paid tribute to the Lebanese labor force and highlighted its added value to industrial production and economic growth.
Trade union delegations, industrial figures and civil society representatives also took part in the event.
After examining the manufacturing process, Minister Azzi, was impressed by the personnel’s excellent conformity with quality control standards, precision, workplace optimization and technical know-how. He also greatly appreciated the workforce’s commitment to a modern waste treatment strategy and a responsible eco-friendly policy.
“The industry is a top national defense strategy to preserve Lebanon and protect the Lebanese worker from foreign labor competitiveness.” Azzi said.
Throughout the tour, INDEVCO President & CEO, Neemat Frem, highlighted the uniqueness of the Lebanese worker in terms of professionalism, advanced manufacturing skills, expertise, productivity enhancement and capability to adapt to new automation technologies.
“The Lebanese labor force is a source of pride for national industry and an integral part of its long, shining and committed journey of serving the Lebanese consumer, answering the particular needs of the local market and achieving the highest levels of quality, competitiveness and global expansion.” Frem stated.
He strongly urged the private sector to invest in the potentials of the Lebanese within the country and spare the citizens the need to emigrate for opportunities overseas.
“Despite the declining economic indicators and the burdens inflicted on the various productive sectors, the Lebanese worker has proven to be a vital pillar for a strong industry, as well as a dynamic generator of economic growth.” He added.
Finally, Frem seized the opportunity to demonstrate what he called “The State of Georges Frem” and its journey of honoring the labor force and preserving its rights. “Since the very beginning, INDEVCO believed that the worth of the human being is best honored through respect and job creation, both of which help develop his talents and propel him towards wider horizons of innovation.” He concluded.
