Interstate Paper Industries, Egypt-based tissue mill, introduced a new biological water treatment plant to treat the paper mill discharge water and meet the governments’ requirements regarding effluents’ quality.
The new 2000 m2 wastewater treatment plant is based on the activated sludge process and has a capacity of 2,100 m3/day. It consists of an 8,300 m3 aeration tank, equipped with 3 surface aerators, and a 14 m diameter secondary clarifier.
The water treatment plant runs 24/7 and is now a critical part of the mill’s operation.
