Phoenix Energy presented at the event, Waste in Lebanon, under the patronage of H.E. Lebanese Prime Minister Saad Hariri, took place at the Four Seasons Hotel in Beirut, Lebanon on 7 March 2017.
Osta shared waste facts and figures in Lebanon and highlighted the various types of solid waste, including municipal, medical, and industrial waste. With a population of 5.6 million in Lebanon and over 1 million tourists visiting annually, Lebanon generates approximately 2.04 million tons of municipal solid waste per year. Osta explained how waste-to-energy technologies can positively impact the environment.
This conference falls in line with Phoenix Energy’s on-going environmental sustainability objective to spread awareness about renewable energy. Supplying effective waste-to-energy solutions support the UN’s sustainable development goals: SDG11 Sustainable Cities & Communities and SDG12 Sustainable Consumption & Production.
