Phoenix Energy has sponsored the Green Demonstration Room, launched on 31 January 2017 by the Center of Research and Development, affiliated with the Lebanese Ministry of Education and Higher Education, the Lebanon Green Building Council, and the Makhzoumi Foundation. The Green Demonstration Room supports the integration of energy efficiency in the official school curricula and welcomes all public and private school students and teachers from across Lebanon to learn about environmental preservation, pollution reduction, and water conservation. The Room is located on the premises of the Center of Research and Development in Jounieh, Lebanon. Phoenix Energy, in addition to platinum sponsoring the event, contributed a wooden frame house to the Room.
As a renewable energy solutions provider, Phoenix Energy works closely with governments, NGOs and associations in the Middle East and North Africa to build solar, biomass, and green building capabilities. This is not the first time Phoenix Energy promotes green building, joining FOSTEr in MED in March 2016 to launch a Building-Integrated Photovoltaic (BIPV) project at the Industrial Research Institute at Lebanese University in Hadath, Lebanon. Support for the Green Demonstration Room falls within INDEVCO’s social sustainability objective to nurture childhood development in the Middle East and coincides with UN Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) 4 of “Quality Education”. The project promotes sustainable development and lifestyles, as well as plays an active role in training science teachers in Lebanese schools.
