During Beirut Energy Forum 2015, co-sponsor, Phoenix Energy, joined Cuisine D’Art / I-Design to sign a ‘Memorandum of Understanding’ for adopting renewable energy solutions on 10 September at Le Royal Hotel Dbayeh, Pearl Main Conference Room.
Phoenix Energy Helps I-Design Reduce Carbon Footprint & Increase Annual Savings
Simon Gerges, Phoenix Energy Line Manager, launched the press conference with a presentation sharing key figures and facts pertaining to sustainable initiative with Cuisine D’Art / I-Design. Gerges highlighted the current photovoltaic (PV) power system project which will provide I-Design with a PV capacity of 82 KWp, offering an annual yield of 102.44 MWh and annual savings of $16,390. The projected return on investment (ROI) is at 6.77 years. Furthermore, the installation of the 855m2 PV power system will reduce CO2 emissions by 68.82 tons.
In parallel, Phoenix Energy is working with I-Design to replace all regular lighting with LED lighting (661 lamps), reducing current energy consumption from 143 MWh to 86 MWh and offering annual savings of $13,700. This project provides an ROI of 3.1 years and will reduce CO2 emissions by 66.7 tons. Gerges went on to unveil the upcoming PV project with I-Design which will yield annual savings of $148,000 and reduce CO2 emissions by 718 tons.
Phoenix Energy & Cuisine D’Art / I-Design Sign a ‘Memorandum of Understanding’
Rabih N. Osta, Area General Manager, discussed Phoenix Energy’s mission to support green initiatives and how this drove the company to assist I-Design in implementing renewable energy solutions. In his addressing note, Osta also thanked Banque du Liban (BDL) and Lebanese Center for Energy Conservation (LCEC) for their continuous support.
Antoine G. Atallah, Founder & Chairman of Cuisine D’Art / I-Design, highlighted his focus on the environment, providing eco-friendly kitchens since 1985. Atallah discussed his interest in renewable energy solutions and how Phoenix Energy’s technical expertise and know-how and BDL and LCEC’s financial support provides him with the resources needed to adopt such eco-friendly solutions.
Following the speeches, Osta and Atallah signed a ‘Memorandum of Understanding’ detailing the responsibilities of both parties in the collaboration, where I-Design acknowledges to its desire to adopt renewable energy solutions and Phoenix Energy commits to assisting I-Design by preparing, proposing and executing the renewable energy projects.
